Alton Center
- Our Alton Center has been open since 1993 and provides care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old.
- Our hours are from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Our Alton Program is fully licensed as Day Care Centers by the Illinois Dept. of Children and Family Services and hold a Silver Circle of Quality in the Illinois ExceleRate program.
The Alton center provides:
- Full and Part-week care for ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age
- Before and After School Care and Full Day School age program during holidays and summer
- Pre-K program staffed by certified Early Childhood teachers.
- Full background check on all employees
- CPR & First Aid trained staff in every classroom
- USDA approved healthy meals & snacks
- Sibling and Monthly discounts available
- Online bill pay available
- State subsidies accepted from DCFS and DHS for parents working or attending school
Infant/Toddler Care

Jessica Artis
Jessica Artis is the Center Director at Step By Step Alton Center. She graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education.
She has been working in Early Childhood Education and family advocacy over the last 25 years, always trying to make a positive impact on this ever-changing world that we live in. She's always believed that showing children and families love, compassion, respect and nurturing in a positive learning environment has always been the foundation of for a bright and flourishing future.

Fees for enrollment are based on a child's age and the number of days they are enrolled. Please e-mail or call us for more information on payment plans and the sibling discount.
Employment Opportunities
All employees must be at least 19 years of age. All employees are required to pass a complete background check (with fingerprinting) and physical per DCFS regulations.
Live-Viewing Cameras
Each of our center based classrooms have secure live-viewing cameras. Unfortunately cameras are not available at our Latchkey Programs
