- Our Brighton Center has been open since 2001 and provides care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.
- Our hours are from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Our Brighton Program is fully licensed as Day Care Centers by the Illinois Dept. of Children and Family Services and hold a Silver Circle of Quality in the Illinois ExceleRate program.
We also pride ourselves that all of our center classrooms are equipped with live viewing cameras to help parents feel secure to be able to log in at any time.
The Brighton Center provides:
- Full and Part-week care for ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age
- Pre-K program staffed by certified Early Childhood teachers.
- Full background check on all employees
- CPR & First Aid trained staff in every classroom
- USDA approved healthy meals & snacks
- Sibling and Monthly discounts available
- Online bill pay available
- State subsidies accepted from DCFS and DHS for parents working or attending school

Center Director
Hailey Prater
Ms. Hailey is the Center Director at our Brighton location. With a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and extensive experience working with children across a variety of age groups, she brings both knowledge and hands-on experience to her role. Ms. Hailey is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable being themselves, building meaningful relationships, and growing through play and engaging learning experiences.
As director, Ms. Hailey is committed to supporting her teaching team, building strong relationships with families, and ensuring every child has a positive and enriching experience while in our care. She loves watching children learn, grow, and gain confidence each day and is proud to be part of their early childhood journey.

Administrative Assistant
Heather Mulrean
Heather is the Administrative Assistant at Brighton Step by Step. She has been with us for 10 years as the Lead Teacher in the infant room at Brighton, followed by 2 years as our PAS Quality Specialist, before moving into her current role as Administrative Assistant. Heather recently graduated with her Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. With her classroom experience and deep understanding of quality standards, Heather brings valuable insight, organization, and dedication to supporting both staff and families.
